I'm a writer with two internationally published novels-- 'Pink Mountain on Locust Island' and 'Gunk Baby'
published by Hachette, Astra House and Coffee House Press.
I also produce and write music under the moniker, ZK king.
I teach and care about process-driven creative practices, and value question-asking, ephemerality, and world-building in the work I seek to make.
Previously, I've been awarded the Melbourne Prize for Literature 'Readings Residency Award', named as a Sydney Morning Herald 'Best Young Australian Novelist',
and a New York Times 'Editor's Choice'.
In 2022 I was invited to be the Australian representative at the Iowa International Writers Program.
I was the keynote speaker at the 2022 National Writer's Conference and have facilitated workshops for writers and artists around the world.
I was also awarded the honor of being an Emerging Writers Festival Ambassador and a Red Room Poetry Youth Ambassador.
My work has been featured in the New York Times, LitHub, The Guardian, ELLE among other publications.
I'm passionate about creative collaboration and have previously worked with creative organisations such as
Google Creative Lab, Digital Writers Festival, The National Gallery of Victoria,
Ubud Reader's and Writer's Festival, and Visual Editions on projects that push the boundaries of tech and literature.
Right now I'm focused on working with writers and am currently open to mentorship, manuscript assessments and workshop facilitation .
My areas of expertise are world building, manuscript development and industry development.
I'm also really interested in working on the intersection of tech and literature, exploring how storytelling and inquiry can shape the future,
while experimenting with how technology can be harnessed to expand creative possibilities.
As a musician, I aspire to create brand new worlds and soundscapes to rest in.
